Let's just say these cars aren't exactly a Subaru Forester. It's no surprise that most of these vehicles are very limited in production. Scarcity always raises the price of anything. Enjoy the ride!
1. Bugatti Veyron SuperSports
Occasionally, paying the most for something results in getting the most. The $2.4 million dollar Bugatti Veyron Super Sports delivers. It's the fastest production car, flat out, in the world, touching 267 mph. It moves from zero - 60 in 2.5 seconds. Volkswagen made an original engine for the car. They stacked two V8's on top ofeach other and staggered the cylinders. It's called a W16 and holds 8.0 liters of displacement. Four turbochargers push fuel/air into the cylinders. It produces 1,200 bhp and 1,100 lb-ft. of torque.
2. Aston Martin One-77
Aston Martin will make only 77 of this 1.85 million dollar model. The 7.3 liter V12 engine under the hood produces 750 bhp and 533 lb-ft of torque. It hits 220 mph and can go from rest to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds. Aston Martin built the voluptuous body of the One-77 as a monocoque design out of carbon fiber.
3. Pagani Zonda CinqueRoadster
The Pagani Zonda Roadster is also $1.85 million dollars but is more exclusive than the Aston Martin. Pagani will make only five of them. Pagani took a race car and made it road-worthy. They're all built by hand. The body is carbon fiber weaved with titanium threads. Power is from Mercedes-Benz with alterations by AMG. The V12 creates 678 bhp and will move the car from zero to 60 mph in 3.4 seconds. The Cinque Roadster features reworked body panels and a flatter underside and will generate 1,653lb of downforce at 186 mph.
4. Lamborghini Reventon
The $1.6 million dollar Reventon is Lamborghini's most powerful and expensive model ever, and they only made twenty of them. 6. Maybach Landaulet
We enter a different realm with the $1.3 million dollar Maybach. The emphasis isn't on performance but luxury and status. The car is built for the business world and is meant for CEOs and executives who use a driver and who are suspicious of that driver. The window separating the front and rear compartment scan be made completely opaque, electronically. The rear compartment features a sliding soft roof in case a touch of sun is needed.
7. Zenvo ST1
This $1.225 million dollar Danish car has a brutally stark front end that looks like a pit bull. It will gofrom a standing start to 60 mph in 2.9 seconds and the top speed is 233 mph. The company will fly a mechanic to the owner in case there's a problem.
8. Hennessey Venom GT
The recipe for the $1.2 million dollar Hennessey Venom is simple. Take the body of a small, light-weight car, in this case a Lotus Elise, and put in the biggest engine that will fit. They use a 6.2 liter, 1,200 bhp Chevrolet Corvette engine with two turbochargers. It results in a zero to 60 mph time of 2.5 seconds.
9. McLaren F1
The $970,000 F1 is a stubborn holdout from 1994. Those McLaren's still around will hit 240 mph and 60 mph from a standing start in 3.2 seconds, using a BMW 6.0 liter V12 with 627 bhp. The interior has an odd configuration. The driver sits in the center of three seats.
